Eligibility:

• Anyone of legal age may enter.
• Beers must be entered under the name of all brewers who helped.
• Beers brewed in commercial facilities are ineligible.
• Entries accepted Jan.1-12, 2008
• NOTE: LATE ENTRY IS NOT AVAILABLE THIS YEAR!

Entry Fee:

• $7 per entry for entry
• Entries may pay via PayPal! (See below)

Entry Requirements:

• TWO (2) 10-14 oz. bottles are required for each entry.
• A Bottle ID Form must be attached to each bottle with a rubber band. No tape, please! Bottle ID forms will be generated for you when you use the Online Registration below.
• One (1) entry form per entry must accompany EACH entry.
• Printed PayPal receipt or check for total entry fees must accompany entries. Make checks payable to: Upper Mississippi Mash-Out
• All entries MUST be registered ONLINE - no paper entries allowed

• The 2004 BJCP style categories are available at BJCP.ORG.
• All 28 2004 BJCP categories of Beer, Mead, And Cider will be accepted, PLUS the two Mash-Out Special Categories: - EIS-ANYTHING! and NEW ENTRANT!

• One entry per subcategory per brewer except for Eis category - no limit on number of entries per brewer. The competition committee reserves the right to combine or split categories based on number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in. A minimum of 20 categories will be established for judging and awards.
• Bottles must be free of labels or other identifying marks including formed-in-glass brands or logos.
• No swing tops allowed. Printed crown caps must be blacked-out with a permanent marker to assure anonymity of all entries. Plastic bottles are OK.
• All entries become the property of the Upper Mississippi Mash-Out. No entries will be returned for any reason.
• Once again, we will award separate Best-of-Show for beer, cider and mead!
  
  
  The Best of Show winners for Beer, Mead and Cider will each receive the coveted "MASH-OUT CHALICE", hand-made by Don Stock. Check out his website at http://www.dbswood.com/.
  
• The NEW ENTRANT Category.
  This category is for brewers who have NEVER entered their beer in a competition before. Any style is OK.
  
  This year, we have TWO categories for New Entrants - for styles that have an Original Gravity of 1.060 and above and one for beers that have an original gravity below 1.060 (enter both as Special Category 30 - we will split them up.) New Entrants may enter only ONE beer per category. (Of course, New Entrants are also eligible to enter any beers they like in the regular categories too.) Enter "Special Category 30 or 31" on the web page.

• The EIS-ANYTHING Style.
  Enter the Eis-Anything style by brewing ANY BJCP Style of beer, and then "Eis"-ing it.

  Enter "Special Category 29" on the web page, or indicate "Style 29 - EIS-ANYTHING" on paper entry forms.
  Note:This category is not eligible for Best-Of-Show Competition

• In the first round, each judge will score 5-10 entries selecting the best three. If a second round is necessary, the second round will consist of the top three entries selected in the first round. All entries will be evaluated by more than one judge. Entries will be chilled and stored properly and appropriately for the style. Entries will be disqualified for rules infractions. These entries will be judged if possible, but not eligible for awards and prizes. All decisions of the judges and competition committee are final.
